As a trustee of The Café Project since 2018, I initially spent several years volunteering at the Café Dome, supporting and encouraging the trainees while gaining a deep understanding of their needs and those of the charity. 

My goal is to provide our trainees with a safe and enjoyable training experience where they can learn new skills, grow in confidence, and become more independent. 

Throughout my career in the hospitality industry, I trained as a chef and progressed through a management training program. This experience enabled me to manage various catering establishments, work on events, and run my own catering company for twelve years. The last ten years of my career were spent in education, teaching in senior schools, where I worked with students who had learning disabilities, anxiety, social issues, and behavioural problems. I have managed budgets, staff, and all aspects of training to ensure compliance with food safety laws and health and safety regulations. 

As a trustee, I bring a wealth of hospitality experience and am committed to raising our profile with this knowledge. I will continue to encourage our trainees to grow by learning and pursuing different experiences.
