Carl

I have been a cornerstone of The Café Dome since early 2012, starting my journey as a volunteer in the kitchen. By August of that year, my dedication and expertise earned me a full-time position. With a remarkable background in hospitality and catering spanning 35 years, I have managed bars, restaurants, and hotels, bringing a wealth of knowledge to share with our trainees, who possess a wide variety of abilities.

As the project flourished, my extensive experience and training led to my promotion as Manager of The Café Dome. Under my leadership, the business has grown significantly, increasing both the café’s revenue and the number of trainees. The Dome has become a huge success, serving as both a café and a training facility, and has become an important part of the local community.

Through the development of The Café Dome and its training program, I have helped create the thriving business you see today. My efforts have provided invaluable opportunities for young adults with learning disabilities, integrating them within the community and fostering their growth.

Over the years, I have found my role incredibly rewarding. Teaching and watching our trainees grow into confident, capable individuals has been a highlight of my career. My passion for this work drives The Café Project Charity to seek further opportunities through our Stepping Stones program and the development of additional cafés and training facilities.
